Method
- Slice each vanilla bean in half lengthwise.
- Scrape the tiny seeds from inside the beans using the back of a knife.
- In a small saucepan, combine the scraped seeds, vanilla pods, granulated sugar, water, and corn syrup.
- Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Allow the mixture to simmer gently for 5 to 10 minutes, or until thickened into a paste.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool completely.
- Transfer the cooled mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour the vanilla paste into a clean jar, seal tightly, and store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
