Ingredients

  • 2 ounces gin or vodka
  • 1 ounce pickle brine
  • 1/2 ounce dry vermouth optional
  • Pickle slices for garnish
  • Ice for shaking

  • Martini glass
  • Measuring jigger

Method
 

  1. Chill your martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Gather all ingredients and equipment on your work surface.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice until it is about two-thirds full.
  4. Measure and pour 2 ounces of gin or vodka into the shaker.
  5. Add 1 ounce of pickle brine to the shaker.
  6. If using, add 1/2 ounce of dry vermouth into the shaker.
  7. Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients.
  8. Strain the mixture into the chilled martini glass, leaving the ice behind.
  9. Garnish with pickle slices and serve immediately.

Notes

For a stronger pickle flavor, adjust the amount of pickle brine to your taste.
