Ingredients

Main
  • 1 pound beef sirloin or ribeye, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1/2 cup flour for coating
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Frying pan or skillet
  • Spatula or tongs

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and black pepper to prepare the marinade.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and toss to coat. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare two shallow dishes: one with beaten eggs and another with flour.
  4. Take each piece of marinated beef and dip it first in the flour, then in the egg.
  5. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom.
  6. Carefully add the coated beef to the hot pan in a single layer. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Once cooked, transfer the beef to a plate lined with paper towels.
  8. Serve the meat jun hot, with a side of rice and dipping sauces.
