Ingredients

Filling
  • 8 oz ground pork
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Non-stick skillet or deep fryer
  • Slotted spoon
  • Cooking thermometer
  • Paper towels

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and minced garlic.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place about a teaspoon of filling in the center. Wet the edges with water.
  3. Fold the wrapper over the filling to form a triangle, pressing out any air and sealing the edges tightly.
  4. In a non-stick skillet or deep fryer, heat about two inches of vegetable oil to 350°F.
  5. Carefully place a few wontons in the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried wontons and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels.
  7. Serve the fried wontons with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crunch, let the wontons cool for a minute before serving.
