Ingredients

Main
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 pkg wonton wrappers about 24
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Fork
  • Deep frying pan or pot
  • Slotted spoon
  • Paper towels
  • Wonton wrappers

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, and garlic powder.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place about a teaspoon of filling in the center.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold it in half to form a triangle and press the edges tightly to seal.
  4. In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
  5. Carefully add a few wontons to the hot oil, avoiding overcrowding, and fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Using a slotted spoon, remove the wontons from the oil and place them on paper towels.
  7. Sprinkle the fried wontons with a little salt while they are still hot.
  8. Serve the wontons warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
