  • 2 chuck eye steaks about 1 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Method
 

  1. Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and rub them with olive oil.
  3. Season both sides of the steaks with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Preheat the grill or skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minutes.
  5. Place the steaks on the grill or skillet and cook undisturbed for 4–5 minutes to form a crust.
  6. Flip the steaks and cook for another 4–5 minutes for medium-rare, or until a meat thermometer reads 130°F.
  7. Remove the steaks from heat and rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Slice the steaks against the grain and serve immediately.
