  • 1 lb deli meat ham, turkey, or chicken
  • 1 cup diced cheese cheddar or provolone
  • 1 cup diced lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced pickles
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls or sandwich bread

Method
 

  1. Chop all ingredients into small, bite-sized pieces to ensure even flavor in every bite.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped deli meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles.
  3. Stir in the mayonnaise and mustard until everything is well coated and creamy.
  4. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the hoagie rolls until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  6. Generously fill each toasted roll with the chopped sandwich mixture.
  7. Optional: Place the assembled sandwiches back in the skillet for 1 to 2 minutes to warm through and melt the cheese.
  8. Slice the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.

Notes

For a zesty kick, add a splash of hot sauce to the filling.
