- Measure out all spices: chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using.
- Place all measured spices into a small mixing bowl.
- Use a whisk or fork to blend the spices thoroughly until you have a uniform seasoning mix.
- Taste the seasoning and adjust the heat or salt levels to your preference.
- Transfer the seasoning mix to an air-tight container for storage.
- When ready to cook, sprinkle the seasoning generously on chicken pieces.
- Cook the seasoned chicken in a hot skillet over medium-high heat for about 6–8 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Serve the seasoned chicken in tortillas with your favorite toppings and enjoy.
Notes
Double the recipe for a larger batch and always store in an air-tight container to keep it fresh.
