  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Combine bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small saucepan.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and whisk constantly until the sugar is fully dissolved, about 2 minutes.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally, to thicken the glaze.
  4. Reduce heat to low and continue to cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until the glaze coats the back of a spoon.
  5. Remove the glaze from heat and allow it to cool slightly in the saucepan, about 3 minutes.
  6. Transfer the cooled glaze to a glass jar or airtight container.
  7. Label and store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  8. Brush the glaze onto proteins or vegetables during the last few minutes of cooking and serve immediately.
