Ingredients

Main
  • 2 lbs Denver steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet or grill
  • Tongs
  • Meat thermometer
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife

Method

  1. Start by taking the Denver steak out of the refrigerator and letting it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Rub the steak with olive oil and season both sides liberally with salt and pepper.
  3. Preheat your cast iron skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Carefully place the steak in the hot skillet and let it cook without moving it for about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Using tongs, flip the steak and add minced garlic and rosemary to the skillet.
  6. Cook for another 4-5 minutes on the second side for medium-rare, checking with a meat thermometer.
  7. Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
  8. After resting, slice the steak against the grain into strips.

Notes

Serve with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, or a Caesar salad.
